With winter right around the corner, many places of interest across the West’s Most Western Town are preparing for the holidays. With the absence of snow or any real winter weather, everyone will be celebrating the last days of this year in our sunny desert. Below are a few notable events occurring for the Scottsdale holiday season.
6. Las Noches de las Luminarias – Desert Botanical Gardens
Every winter at Desert Botanical Gardens, “the nights of the luminaries” illuminate the various plants and flora that make up our state’s ecosystem. Boasting over 7,000 luminaries, Desert Botanical Gardens creates an environment that is equal parts ephemeral, natural, and beautiful. With performing musicians, light refreshments, and stellar ambiance, this event transforms a simple stroll into something magical.

An event for suited to our Kosher readers, Mazelpalooza claims to be “the only place…for Jewish young adults on Christmas Eve.” Hosted by DJ Soloman, this event incorporates a night of drinks and dancing during Santa’s busiest hours. As long as you’re 21 years old – and can still tolerate the club atmosphere – Mazelpalooza will be the perfect choice.

3. Scottsdazzle – Old Town Scottsdale
Situated in Fashion Square, Scottsdazzle celebrates the city as a whole with the so-called Scottsdale Christmas tree imported straight from Italy. Starting November 25th, Scottsdazzle will feature a month-long celebration of merriment and cheer with entertainers, live music, amazing décor, dining, drinks, and so much more. Scottsdazzle is as much of an exploration of our Arizona town’s offers as it is a holiday extravaganza.
- No tickets required for Scottsdazzle’s activities.
2. ZooLights – Phoenix Zoo
We’re not the only ones who get to enjoy the year’s festivities; the Phoenix Zoo is adorned with millions of lights to entertain both people and animals. Running until January 14th, Zoolights offers a special Dinosaurs in the Desert exhibit with life-size dinos around the park. Keep in mind: animal viewing is limited during ZooLights.
